Meet Adam Mackintosh

Osteopath M.Ost

I offer osteopathy across a number of locations in Bristol and the Wye Valley. My goal is to help you achieve comfort and freedom within your body by promoting musculoskeletal health for performance and longevity. Together, we'll get you back to doing what you love most.

I earned a first-class Masters in Osteopathy after 4 years of study at Swansea University. I take a hands-on approach using a variety of techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, stretching and spinal manipulation. I recognise that you're an individual with unique circumstances, needs and objectives, and will offer lifestyle advice and exercises that are tailored to you.

My expertise lies in treating rock climbing injuries, with a particular focus on those troublesome finger injuries. I have completed postgraduate training in Cranial-Sacral technique, a gentle yet powerful method that promotes the body's natural self-healing abilities to restore balance and wellness.

My previous experience spans 7 years in the Scottish Highlands, guiding individuals along classic mountain routes during the summers and working as a ski patroller in the winters. I've got several more qualifications including Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor, Winter Mountain Leader and a degree in philosophy. Through personal experience with sports related injuries and witnessing others face similar challenges, I have unique insight in outdoor sports related ailments.

Outside the clinic you can find me rock climbing, ski touring and playing the harmonica!

Find your health

Osteopathy is an approach centered on seeking wellness rather than treating illness. I recognize that you encompass more than just symptoms, and I am here to support you in expressing your unique and distinctive state of optimal well-being.

Understand your pain

During your consultation, you'll receive a detailed diagnosis of what the problem is. Additionally you will gain insight into behaviours and lifestyle factors that might be causing your pain to persist.

Let go of tension

Hands on treatment is an excellent way of calming the nervous system allowing the body and mind to relax.

Rehabilitation

I have a keen interest in movement and exercise. I combine hands-on therapy with personalised exercise recommendations, ensuring the treatment is maximally effective.

Osteopathy is more than just symptom relief. Through targeted treatment, a greater understanding of your body, and rehabilitative exercises, you will be empowered to take control of your own health and be safeguarded from future episodes.
